Post Office Bay One of the rocky outcrops seen on our panga ride Alice on the panga
This afternoon started with a lovely panga ride. We were with Alex and there were only four of us in the boat! Us, and our friends Ken and Judy. The water was really clear and we saw some small baby sharks in the shallows, an eagle ray, and an american oyster catcher bird on some rocks (amongst other things). We also saw quite a few turtles popping their heads up, they're pretty big. Anyway, we had a lovely ride, and afterwards we stopped at Post Office bay. This was something we didn't do last year because it was just after seeing the flamingoes, over lunch, that Justin injured his knee, so this was new. The idea is that you post a card, and then when the next boat comes along the people on it check to see if there's any cards for places near them and if so they deliver it by hand. So, first of all we checked the cards, but there were none for us.

After this we stopped at La Loberia which is another bay on the island, and climbed up to the viewing platform to have a look around. Good view. Then we got back in the panga and Alex took us over to see some penguins who were sitting on a rock. After that the driver gave us a speedy ride back to the boat - he really opened up the throttle and it was great - like being in a James Bond film.

The sea was really rough this evening - we only travelled for 2 - 2.5 hours, but Bridget and I both needed a travel sickness tablet. Didn't eat much dinner so it must have been really bad! When I went to the back of the boat to get some air I noticed that the waves being made by us were huge, almost as high as the side of the lower deck! I think we were crossing the currents or something. I did get to see a whole line of blue footed boobies fly past and then dive in to the water. They fold up their wings and go in like arrows - really fast. Oh, and the stingy things on my leg have almost disappeared!

We had a brilliant day today, playing with the sealions was definitely the highlight.
