This is us, on the outskirts of Arequipa in front of Misti volcano Some Llamas we saw on our city tour One of the little streets inside the convent of St. Catalina
Well, we survived a night in the Sheraton karaoke bar - we had to go there to claim our free cocktails! Were not too keen on Spanish Mariah Carey who was sitting on one of the tables and hogging the microphone so didnt stay there too long.

Caught the plane to Arequipa this morning, after a small panic when the flight disappeared off the TV screen in the airport. However, all was ok in the end, and we arrived in Arequipa at about 1.30 pm and were met by our guide

We were taken on a lovely tour of the countryside around Arequipa and saw the volcanoes with snow on the top, some terraced farm land and a cage full of guinea pigs (dinner for Peruvians). Then we were taken around Santa Catalina convent which was amazing - it covers 20,000 square metres and is like a small town rather than a convent. It was really lovely, and we have some good photos but can't post them up because this pc won't let us plug our camera in so you'll have to wait for those.

Anyway, after that we visited a few pretty churches in the town, and a courtyard more filled with pigeons than Kingston Market Place. Ugh. We are now back in our hotel and have an early morning start to Colca Canyon tomorrow morning, so hopefully another update after that. It's a five hour drive but we do get to sit in hot springs at the end of it.
