One of the condors that we saw Us with one of the ladies selling things to the tourists
Today was a BRILLIANT day!

We got up in the middle of the night at 5.15am, luckily Justin was much much better so that was good. Then at 6am we left to go to Condor Cross. Once we arrived we went on a short hike - and this time it really was short thank goodness and saw some Condors in the distance pretty quickly. We also saw an eagle which looked tiny next to the condors!!!

We then walked up a (steep) slope to a viewing point, and were really lucky because there were loads of condors and we got some fantastic photos. One of them even perched, very kindly, on a rock just below the viewing point so that we could take its photo!

After a while at the top of Condor Cross we started our journey back, and one of the funny things was that everywhere you found lovely Peruvian ladies selling beautiful blankets, shawls, and little bits and pieces. We bought a water bottle carrier for 5 soles (less than a pound).

On the way back to Arequipa we stopped at a small town for lunch which was really nice, and there was even live music whilst we ate. We arrived back in Arequipa at about 4.15pm

I have to mention at this point - never ever bother with E45 sun protection lip balm. It does not work. My lips are so sore, it's as if I have had a cold for a week. Luckily Jane (a lady on the same tour) has been lending me 8 hour cream. Oh another funny thing - we've met a couple called Jane and Graham from Kingston!
